Synopsis
A COSTLY INTIMACY

Trust had died in Sarah Haywood that terrible night three years ago, an icy emotional armor growing around her heart to take its place. Now the ghosts of her past were resurrected as a serial rapist stalked the city. To feel safe, to be safe, she needed to trust again. And the one man she wanted to trust was police detective Dugan Magee...

Heat. Crackling and heavy. Dugan had felt it when they first met, and he tried to deny its intensity. Though he was sure Sarah sensed it, too, he knew what such intimacy would cost her. Still, his need to help her, to heal her, pulsed with a life of its own. But could he protect her from a madman?

Luxury Leisure for Less
After reading "Luxury Leisure for Less", I found myself getting excited about all the low-cost activities I would have on my kitchen calendar in a couple of months. I think this book has timeless information that can be used by anyone who does not want to spend a lot of money to have fun. The information provided in this book could be used in the city or in the country--it is universal information. I even plan to use some of the basics leisure for less tips during my next vacation to Paris.

Making Plant Places: Original Projects for Making Containers, Boxes, Baskets, Hangers & Stands
Published in Paperback by Hartley & Marks (July, 1900)
Authors: Susan McDiarmid and Edward R. Turner
Average review score:

Great ideas for displaying your plants
Making Plant Places is a wonderful book for people who want to do more with their plants than simply stick them in pots on a shelf. The projects are really striking and so original -- you would expect to pay a fortune for them in the store, but the materials used are really inexpensive and the finished product is just beautiful. (Who knew that chicken wire could be so upscale?) I'm not especially artistic or crafty, but the directions were easy to follow and the end result is amazing. I particularly love the wall sconces and the fancy wire hangers because they're so unique and it really changes the look of a room to have plants hanging from the walls and ceiling, not just sitting on the coffee table. Gorgeous photos in the colour section, too. Highly recommended!

Masquerade of Angels
Published in Paperback by Kelt Works (December, 1994)
Author: Karla Turner
Average review score:

A must read for anductees and researchers alike.
For those of you who don't know of works of the late Dr. Karla Turners research, and you're investigating the alien abduction phenomenon - this is a must have book, for it's genuine truth and educational value into the enigma of the 'high strangeness' what abductees go through. She discovers that many of these creatures are indeed Masquerading as Angelic beings and as messengers of light, deceiving channelers, and groups of abductees. She suggests that they possibly have a much more sinister agenda!

Dr Turner died of breat cancer in 1996. I was fortunate enough to have known her personally as a friend and fellow abductee. She was an incredible person, with a storehouse full of knowledge into the abduction agenda.

Max Weber and Karl Marx (Routledge Sociology Classics)
Published in Paperback by Routledge (December, 1993)
Authors: Karl Lowith and Bryan S. Turner
Average review score:

Lowith's Argument Remains Important
Lowith's 1932 essay on Marx and Weber remains the definitive statement of the deep commonalities between these two thinkers. That is, it argues that Weber's central concern is to develop a fundamental theory of capitalism, as with Marx. For decades, it was "necessary" to attempt to parry Marx with Weber. Lowith's stood as an accusation of "bad faith" with regard to all such attempts, especially those who would evacuate Weber of all critique, even if only existential. Derek Sayer's "Capitalism and Modernity" is perhaps most in the spirit of this minor masterpiece.

Memorandum Pad U.F. 16
Published in Paperback by Infinity Publishing.com (27 September, 2002)
Author: Joseph P. Turner
Average review score:

A good read.
This book is a recollection of various incidents occurring over the three decades long career of a big city street cop and his close colleagues, told in the form of short stories based upon the daily event memo pad that police officers are required to keep. Some of the tales are humorous, some are sad, but all are poignant.

Memories and Images: The World of Donald Vogel and Valley House Gallery
Published in Hardcover by University of North Texas Press (January, 2001)
Authors: Donald Stanley Vogel and Decherd Turner
Average review score:

For students of American art history
Memories And Images: The World Of Donald Vogel And Valley House Gallery is the story of Donald Vogel who arrived in Dallas at the beginning of World War II after a sojourn at the Art Institute of Chicago and began a successful and explosive career in the arts. This is the story of the wealth that came with East Coast art dealers following the oil field trails throughout Oklahoma and Texas. During a tumultuous time of dubious art and fake old masters, Vogel was able to be a part of bringing fine art works to Dallas, beginning with the Betty McLean Gallery, and later to his own Valley House Gallery. Already established as a painter, Vogel became a critical and important outlet in Dallas for art dealers in the United States and Europe. An honor that has endured for the past fifty-eight years at the heart of the Dallas art scene. Memories And Images is an autobiography that is very highly recommended and informative reading for students of American art history in general, and the work and contributions of Donald Vogel and his Valley House Gallery in particular.
